The Redirect URL

Right now, our Invoicing Settings has only 1 feature you need to define: the Redirect URL. This is the page your prospects will be redirected to, after they pay an invoice sent by your salesteam.

Why It Matters

Here's why the redirect-url is important:

  1. Customer Experience: Guide clients to a thank you page, onboarding instructions, or next steps after payment.

  2. Brand Consistency: Keep clients in your ecosystem instead of leaving them on a generic payment confirmation page.

  3. Conversion Tracking: Use a specific URL to track successful payments in your analytics tools.

  4. Upsell Opportunities: Redirect to a page with additional offers or services.

In short, it's your chance to control what happens after the payment – don't waste it!

Setting Up Your Redirect URL

Here's how to set up your default redirect URL:

  1. Log into your Cosmicly account.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Invoicing.

  3. Look for the "Thank You Page URL" field.

  4. Enter your desired URL (e.g., https://yourcompany.com/thank-you).

  5. Click "Save Changes".

That's it!

Best Practices

To make the most of your redirect URL, keep these tips in mind:

  1. Use a Dedicated Page: Create a specific thank you or next steps page for invoice payments.

  2. Keep It Relevant: Ensure the page content matches the context of the payment.

  3. Test Your Link: Make sure the URL works correctly before setting it as your default.

Pro Tip

While this setting creates a default redirect URL, remember that you can always customize the redirect URL for individual invoices when you're creating them. This gives you flexibility for special cases or different product lines.

What's Next?

With your redirect URL set up, you're ready to provide a seamless post-payment experience for your clients. Next, you might want to create some invoices and test the whole process from payment to redirect.
