This guide will walk you through creating your account, give you a tour of the dashboard, and get you started with the essentials.

Getting Started

Account Creation

Setting up your Cosmicly account is quick and painless. Here's how:

  1. Go to cosmicly.io and click "Sign Up" in the top right corner.

  2. Enter your email address and create a strong password.

  3. Fill in your basic info: name, company name, and team size.

  4. Choose your plan (don't worry, we offer a free trial to start).

  5. Click "Create Account" and you're in!

Pro tip: Use a password manager (we recommend 1password). It'll save you headaches down the road.

Dashboard Overview

Once you're logged in, you'll land on your Cosmicly dashboard. This is your command center.

Here's what you'll see:

  1. Sidebar:

    • Navigation menu (Contacts, Invoices, Calls, Commissions, Analytics)

    • Settings menu (account info, company settings)


  2. Analytics:

    • Key metrics at a glance (Total commissions, Top performers, Recent payouts)

    • Quick access to common actions (Create invoice, Add team member, Run report)


  3. Settings:

    • Setup your company's unique settings

    • Define your commission roles & rates

    • Define your call types for automated reporting

    • View, create, and send payouts to your team

Take a few minutes to click around and get familiar. Don't worry, you can't break anything.

Quick Start Steps

Ready to get the ball rolling?

Follow these steps to start using Cosmicly:

  1. Connect Your Accounts:

    • Go to Settings > Integrations

    • Connect your Stripe account (for payments)

    • Connect your Calendly or Cal.com account (for call tracking)

  2. Create Commission Structures:

    • Go to Settings > Commissions

    • Click "New Role"

    • Set up your commission role (e.g., appointment setters, closer, SDR, or AE)

    • Set up your commission rate (e.g., 4% of deal value, or 10% of cash collected)

    • Assign these roles to team members (when you invite them)

  3. Set Up Your Team:

    • Navigate to Team Members > Add Member

    • Enter your team members' details

    • Assign roles (e.g., Setter, Closer)

  4. Create Your Default Products:

    • Navigate to Settings > Products

    • Create your first product

    • Create all the default prices for your product (we support payment plans, one-time payments, and subscriptions).

    • Don't worry, your salesreps can always create custom prices for prospects at the time of sale.

  5. Send Your First Invoice:

    • Click "Create Invoice" on your dashboard

    • Fill in the details (customer, product, price, and commission owners)

    • Send it to your customer (via email, or payment-link) upon completion

    • Watch Cosmicly track the commission automatically

  6. View Your First Report:

    • Go to Analytics

    • Set your date range

    • Optionally, narrow down the report for a specific "call type"

    • View all of your key-metrics (cash collected, close rate, cash per call, etc..)

That's it! You've just set up the core features of Cosmicly. From here, you can start exploring more advanced features like custom dashboards, payout scheduling, and performance analytics.
